San Diego Tile Roof Replacement and Lift and Relay

If water is getting beneath your clay or concrete tiles, the first step is to find out what condition the tile, underlayment and roof deck are in. Higher Levels Roofing inspects tile roofs across San Diego County and provides a written scope for reusing serviceable tile or installing a new tile system.

When Lift and Relay Makes Sense

When enough of the existing tile is sound, we can carefully lift and stage it, inspect the exposed deck, renew the underlayment and flashing, and relay the serviceable tile. We check the availability of matching replacement pieces and address valleys, penetrations, eaves and ventilation in the proposal. A suitable scope may include two layers of Malarkey Right Start UDL.

When to Consider New Tile

Widespread breakage, hard-to-match tile or a planned change in appearance can make new tile the better fit. We compare clay and concrete profiles, including flat concrete and S tile. If a change affects roof weight, we identify the need to confirm the structure can support the proposed system.

See a Two-Piece Mission Clay Tile Installation

On a San Diego new-build project, our crew installed mission pan-and-cover clay tile with copper edge metal and used a separate low-slope assembly at the roof transitions. The gallery shows tile staging, installation and the finished roof.

We review tile condition, access and visible signs of leakage at the site visit. Your written estimate identifies the assembly, the work included and how any concealed deck damage will be handled. Higher Levels Roofing is a California C-39 roofing contractor, CSLB #1090225.
